Over the past few weeks we have been getting notices from some of our subscribers that they are not getting the newsletter every week. We know that we have not dropped anyone from the database unless they requested it. We have been made aware that some ISP's (the name that comes after the @ in your email address.) do delay delivering the emails during their peak times. We would like to begin documenting these problems. We send the newsletter sometime between midnite and 3:00 AM each Monday morning so that it should be in your email box early on Monday. We understand that some of you only go to your mailbox once or twice a week and this situation would not be evident to you. But for those who have broadband access and remain online all the time you probably were not aware of our weekly procedure and when the email does come through you assume we just emailed it. It is possible that the delay that the carriers have admitted to are longer than just a few hours and might extend for weeks. Another problem that has been troubling our reader's is that they are being put on the deleted list because they forward the newsletter to some friends and if one of those friends marks it as junk mail or spam, the original recipient is removed. We urge people to use the link that is just above this article to safely forward a copy of the newsletter. After Thanksgiving, you may be feeling lazy and sluggish, trying to recover from a day of overdoing it on the foodstuffs (and I do mean stuff!) during the traditional Thanksgiving food fest. The question now is, how to repair the damage we've done to ourselves by overeating? While there's no magic bullet that will quickly allow you to jettison all those extra calories and fat the day after Thanksgiving, you may feel better doing a short "detox" diet. No, I'm not suggesting laxatives or lemon juice and cayenne pepper, or some other unusual concoction. There really isn't a need for a long-term diet like that, which can cause vitamin and mineral deficiencies. I'm talking about healthy eating that lets your body recover from the great Turkey Day insult. There is normal day-to-day digestion, but there is also the need occasionally for our body's organs to help us get rid of extra amounts of substances we don't need, like waste products, chemicals, fat, and sugar. Here are some guidelines that will help your body get back into healthy eating. Try these tips for three days: Drink plenty of water and other low-calorie, non-caffeinated fluids. Fluids help to flush out toxins from our body. Our kidneys must do the hard work of filtering out the toxins and they need water to their job. Drink as much fluid each day as is comfortable for you.  Choose lower-fat foods. Our bodies have to work longer and harder to digest higher-fat foods. Give your digestive system a rest and choose low-fat alternatives.  Include high-fiber foods. Fiber is the body's scrub brush; it can help sweep out your colon.  Aim for lots of fruits and vegetables. These foods are not only naturally low in calories and fat but also high in fiber. Over these three days, eat less protein and starchy foods and fill up on fruits and vegetables -- aim for six to eight servings per day. Don't forget about exercise. Exercise itself is a great way of detoxifying the body. Plan to go for at least a 30-minute walk each day. And what about all the Thanksgiving leftovers? You can save and freeze some of them, but don't feel guilty about tossing away the sweets and higher-calorie and -fat foods. This will save you the calories later and you will be the healthier for it! Men's Health (first of a series of ten ) By David Schipper, Men's Health Your weight-loss strategy should be inspired. There are scientists who study weight loss so the rest of us can keep track of the important stuff, like spring training and Rotisserie drafts. These researchers regularly come up with good advice, the latest and greatest of which we've gathered for you. Pick a few tips, put them in your lineup, and get back in the weight-loss game. 1. WEIGH YOURSELF OFTEN Time was, experts said to stay off the scale--it can be discouraging. But after studying 3,500 individuals from the National Weight Control Registry (NWCR) who've maintained 60 or more pounds of weight loss for at least a year, researchers found that 44 percent weighed themselves daily. Unhealthy obsession? No, says James Hill, Ph.D., NWCR cofounder and director of the center for human nutrition at the University of Colorado. "They use it as an early warning system for preventing weight regain,"; he explains. "If your goal is to keep your weight at a certain level, you have to have feedback to see whether you're successful." Watch for more information in next week's newsletter. It still has the ticket booth outside, concession stands inside, and one of the few remaining pipe organs in existence. The pipe organ alone make it worth it to show up early. Not to mention the opportunity of getting a good seat. Even the seating is of the original layout, which is very spacious seating as opposed to the "crowd in as many as you can" seating in today's theaters. It is owned and operated by the Motor City Organ Society - a non-profit group. These days, their mission is to continue theater restoration for the purpose of presenting old classic films on the big screen just as they were meant to be seen.
