ICE (In case of Emergency) We
published this before, but since it is such a good, simple and
free idea , it bears repeating
We all carry our mobile phones with hundreds of
names/numbers stored in its memory but yet nobody, other than
ourselves, know which of these numbers belong to our near and
dear ones?
In case of emergency people attending us get hold of our
mobile phone but don't know which number to call to inform our
family members. Yes, there are many numbers stored but which
one is the contact person in case of an emergency?
For this reason, we should have one or more telephone
numbers stored under the name ICE (In case of Emergency) in
our mobile phones.
The idea was thought up by a paramedic who found that when
they went to the scenes of accidents, there were always mobile
phones with patients, but they didn't know which number to
call.
Following a disaster in London, the East Anglican Ambulance
Service has launched a national "In case of Emergency (ICE)"
campaign.
In an emergency situation, Emergency Service personnel and
hospital staff would then be able to quickly contact your next
of kin, by simply dialing the number stored as "ICE".
It really could save your life, or put a loved one's mind
at rest.
For more than one contact simply enter ICE1, ICE2 and ICE3
etc. A great idea that will make a difference!
Stop and Program your phone
now!!!
Yom Kippur
...In the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month,
you shall afflict your souls, and you shall not do any work
... For on that day he shall provide atonement for you to
cleanse you from all your sins before the L-RD.
-Leviticus 16:29-30
Yom Kippur is probably the most important holiday of the
Jewish year. Yom Kippur occurs on the 10th day of
Tishri.
The holiday is instituted at Leviticus 23:26
The name "Yom Kippur" means "Day of Atonement," and that
pretty much explains what the holiday is. It is a day set
aside to "afflict the soul," to atone for the sins of the past
year. In Days
of Awe, I mentioned the "books" in which G-d
inscribes all of our names. On Yom Kippur, the judgment
entered in these books is sealed. This day is, essentially,
your last appeal, your last chance to change the judgment, to
demonstrate your repentance and make amends.
As noted in Days of Awe, Yom Kippur atones only for sins
between man and G-d, not for sins against another person. To
atone for sins against another person, you must first seek
reconciliation with that person, righting the wrongs you
committed against them if possible. That must all be done
before Yom Kippur.
The LORD hates people with twisted hearts, but
he delights in those who have integrity. Proverbs 11:20"
Emails from our readers
Hey Peggy this is J.'s
friend, Judy. I find your scriptures so refreshing and
touching...they start my day off and give me such
peace. Judy Dear Judy, Thank you sooo much Judy. I
really appreciate the encouragement. Peggy Jo
Dear Peggy Jo,
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing, the (9-11 Angel
Story)Peggy.
Marlene
Thanks, Peggy Jo, for displaying your angel painting and
for the verse of psalms 91:11, truly inspiring. May peace
fill your day today! S.R.
Dear Peggy Jo, This is a letter to wish you well in your
latest venture.. I detect a pattern in your endeavors. They
all involve helping people. R.L.
Dear Peggy Jo, I received your Special edition and I am
confused. There was only one paragraph in both the regular and
the the special edition in the 9-11 Angel article. J.P.
Dear J.P.,
We are trying to find out what the problem was. Some people
received all three paragraphs and others only the last one..
We checked our input to the system and all three were there in
both cases. It might have something to do with the picture but
we are not sure. In any case here are all three
paragraphs:
The brief change in America following the tragedy of
9/11/01 was profound. Suddenly, people were realizing the
inappropriateness of the violence and sexuality in movies
and on TV. Comedians who had previously made fun of people
were now edifying them. The curbing of excessive celebration
of entertainment as shown by the re-scheduling of the Emmy
awards was refreshing. People were openly praying for our
country and for one another. The American flag was being
displayed everywhere.
I wanted to do a painting to
commemorate all this. I knew I wanted to write on it the
scripture that said: "For he shall give his angels charge
over thee". So I created an angel dressed in red, white, and
blue and holding the world. But I had momentarily forgotten
exactly where the verse was located in the Bible. I looked
it up and discovered it was part of one of my favorite
psalms, not mentally registering its number at the time. I
was very tempted to incorporate the verses surrounding it
but somehow I limited myself to just the original scripture
I had in mind.
people who know me, know that I’m the
type of person who looks in the mirror and puts one more
accessory on, while most people look in the mirror and take
one thing off, so not elaborating with more verses was
surprising…I got chills when I realized that the scripture I
had been led not to add any verses to was Psalm 91.11. Truly
this artwork must have been supernaturally
inspired.
Peggy Jo
P. S. To All Readers, Please let
us know, did you or did you not receive all three paragraphs?
Help us find out what happened.

House of Blue Leaves is a very funny start to our

most popular and arguably most important play. Based on the
Pope's visit to NY on October 4, 1965, the story focuses on
