Got
Mustard ???
Roy was the
second volunteer for the " Got Mustard Campaign " We have set up a
slideshow of the many people who have either sent in their photos or allowed
us to snap their picture at one of the events. Perhaps you might know some of
the people. Find out and then call them to let them know that they are
famous. You can view that show at www.peggyjostudio.com/gotmustard/gotmustard.php
or you can try clicking here. if that does not work try a right click and select open
in a separate tab from the drop down list. If all else fails enter the
address www.peggyjostudio.com/gotmustard/gotmustard.php
in your browsers's go to text box..
In the next issue we will feature one of the
other volunteers. If you would like to join the fun send your electronic
photo to webmaster@peggyjostudio.com

That
Ragged Old Flag
I
walked through a county courthouse square,
On a park bench an old man was sitting there.
I said, "Your old courthouse is kinda run down."
He said, "Naw, it'll do for our little town."
I said, "Your flagpole has leaned a little bit,
And that's a Ragged Old Flag you got hanging on it.
He said, "Have a seat", and I sat down.
"Is this the first time you've been to our little town?"
I said, "I think it is." He said, "I don't like to brag,
But we're kinda proud of that Ragged Old Flag."
"You see, we got a little hole in that flag there
When Washington took it across the Delaware.
And it got powder-burned the night Francis Scott Key
Sat watching it writing _Oh Say Can You See_.
And it got a bad rip in New Orleans
With Packingham and Jackson tuggin' at its seams."
"And it almost fell at the Alamo
Beside the Texas flag, but she waved on through.
She got cut with a sword at Chancellorsville
And she got cut again at Shiloh Hill.
There was Robert E. Lee, Beauregard, and Bragg,
And the south wind blew hard on that Ragged Old Flag."
"On Flanders Field in World War I
She got a big hole from a Bertha gun.
She turned blood red in World War II
She hung limp and low by the time it was through.
She was in Korea and Vietnam.
She went where she was sent by her Uncle Sam."
"She waved from our ships upon the briny foam,
And now they've about quit waving her back here at home.
In her own good land she's been abused --
She's been burned, dishonored, denied and refused."
"And the government for which she stands
Is scandalized throughout the land.
And she's getting threadbare and wearing thin,
But she's in good shape for the shape she's in.
'Cause she's been through the fire before
And I believe she can take a whole lot more."
"So we raise her up every morning,
Take her down every night.
We don't let her touch the ground
And we fold her up right.
On second thought I DO like to brag,
'Cause I'm mighty proud of that Ragged Old Flag."

Attention
Readers!
I want to make sure that you are getting the fullest benefit from the Peggy
Jo Studio Newsletter. In particular, I direct you to the left side of the
page (which, I’m told, some people never look at) where there are various
advertisements. Like our listings, there are opportunities you can scarcely
find anywhere else. These ads help defray the expenses involved in getting
the news of events to you every Monday, so if you see something that
interests you, be sure to mention that you saw the ad in the PJSN. That way
everyone benefits.

Dear Peggy Jo,
Very funny story re. Gayle's cell
phone. I will remember the rice!!!! Nice to get your
newsletter.
Gaye Bluford
Dear Peggy Jo,
Last year I replaced all the windows in my
house with that expensive double-pane energy efficient kind, and today, I got
a call from the contractor who installed them. He was complaining that the
work had been completed a whole year ago and I still hadn't paid for them.
Hellloooo,---just because I'm blonde doesn't
mean that I am automatically stupid. So, I told him just what his fast
talking sales guy had told me last year, that in ONE YEAR these windows would
pay for themselves! Helllooooo? It's been a year! I told him.
There was only silence at the other end of
the line, so I finally just hung up. He never called back. Guess I won that
stupid argument. I bet he felt like an idiot.
