Happy Easter and Passover
"Behold the lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world"
The celebration Easter and Passover Biblical Feasts demonstrates the organic relationship that exists between Biblical Judaism and Biblical Christianity. We should be celebrating the Passover Lamb of God, not the Easter ham. The origin of Easter is the Babylonian goddess Ishtar. She had other names in other countries, including “Easter.” In the Babylonian religion, a giant egg fell to earth, and out popped Ishtar, hence the “Ishtar” (Easter) eggs. Ishtar was a fertility goddess, which is why rabbits are so much a part of the Easter celebration. Holidays such as Easter and Christmas are man-made inventions which came into Christianity hundreds of years after the time of Yeshua. These are the holidays that were celebrated in the early church.
By celebrating the “Jewish” holidays, we are observing the same traditions observed by Yeshua and even Paul. Paul (Rav Shaul) even gave instructions to the Gentile church at Corinth on how to observe Passover.
Captain Dennis Young is now famous for appearing in the "Got Mustard Campaign" Dennis is also famous for being the Fleet Captain for "Sailing Singles". He is a licensed Captain and a long time member of the Merchant Marine.
So when you see or contact him be sure to tell him you've seen him in the "Got Mustard" campaign. You can see the other hundreds of people by clicking on the underlined words above.
So many people have volunteered to participate that we have found it necessary to change the way the slide show runs so that people can browse rather than wait to see their photo with the "digital mustard" on their upper lip. One can replace the phrase in the section box with their first name and deleting any other text in the box. Then only the slides that contain that name are displayed.
If you had your photo taken and can't find it in the slide show please send us an email. If you would like to send a photo to be included, send it to webmaster@peggyjostudio.com. We will supply the "digital mustard".
Congratulations Captain Dennis!!
You can even Bring a Dinghy !!
Tell all of you sailor friends about this event. pass it on.
Skippers, call Bob Cowles (313-822-0996) even if you are just remotely interested.Leave a message with your phone number and/or your email address
He is not asking for any money at this time. He just wants to know who is interested.
For those rag bagger from yesteryear, Moon Baker was an old friend, excellent sailor and was a member of the DYC and BYC.
He originated Baker's Keyboard Lounge back in the '60's . He also was a great sailor.
He purchased a 40' Tripp in the '60's. It was called "Touche". When the boat was purchased, the owner told Moon that the name was reserved because of it's reputation. Moon said "Sure". When the vessel was hauled into dry dock for repainting and changing the name, Moon told the painter,"Add an X in front of the name".
Moon Baker won numerous races including several Mackinacks.
Don't recall the previous owner's name, but we all remember "X-Touche". The owner of Baker's Keyboard Lounge --A magnificent gentleman and a great sailor.
Well, has anyone got a better idea? About" Bakers???"
Let's---say,
Have a party and Benefit for the cause?
Maybe add GM, too! Have an Easter Egg
Benefit.
Maybe get Obama and his Rock stars to come aboard? The Governator and state reps
You could have Bugs Bunny in costume
and get some musicians playing----Oh well----Dream on----Dreamgirls movie stars?
What was the potato recipe?
Could you please print it again maybe for the holidays?
The Breast Cancer site is having trouble getting enough people to click on their site daily to meet their quota of donating at least one free mammogram a day to an underprivileged woman. It takes less than a minute to go to their site and click on 'donating a mammogram' for free (pink window in the middle).
This doesn't cost you a thing.. Their corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate mammogram in exchange for advertising.
Here's the web site! Pass it along to people you know.
We printed this letter in the past two issues and many people did go to the site. It would be nice to get everyone to go there on a regular basis.

National Day of Prayer
THU 2009-05-07 The National Day of Prayer and also that it is sponsored by the Congress of the United States, the President of the United States, and the Governor of Michigan.
What happens at our event in Shain Park? First, it should be noted that we have been conducting this observance for over five years and have been blessed with good weather. The format is as follows: We gather about 11:45 AM, introduce ourselves to each other, and place red white and blue NDP balloons around the park to let people know where we are assembling. (When we are done, the balloons are given to the many children playing on the swings and slides.) Each year there are new people, but don’t be surprised if you see many familiar faces. At noon we form a circle and someone is designated to read the national prayer. Then each of is given the opportunity to speak or not. Ordinarily, people pray for our country, our leaders, our communities, etc. We can say a prayer or just give our thoughts in regard to the event.
It is a short observance lifting up our nation and your participation is important. If you can't make it, think of us at noon and maybe read the national prayer that follows. Feel free to tell your friends and also remember that all are invited regardless of religious affiliation.
Shain Park is located in downtown Birmingham across from the Community Center and is abounded by Merrill, Bates, Henrietta and Martin Streets. If you need any other information please send an email to peggyjo@peggyjostudio.com. From 11:45 AM to ..Location: Shain Park.
