The
Vinsetta grill is one of my favorites because of the great
food, pleasant, efficient and attentive wait-staff.
Peggy Jo
When you eat at Boodles make sure you save
room for dessert. Bruno or one of the other wait-staff will
flame it at your table. Very New York Style.

What a shame what folly,to give advice before
listening to the facts. Proverbs18:13
I took down some of my twinkle lights on Sunday and
I was thinking how neat it was for Birmingham and Royal Oak to
keep their lights up during those long winter nights.Way to go
!!!
Don't forget to check on your buddy
First Line of DefenseI was out on a date at a fancy
restaurant over the weekend when I went to the Ladies room to
freshen up a bit. As I entered, I was startled to see this
handsome man in there washing his hands. We both stopped in
our tracks, then checked out the fixtures in the room, but
that didn't answer the question, so we ran to the door to read
the sign. By this time I thought it might have been me who
made the mistake and my heart was pounding while my face was
turning every shade of red. When we discovered that it was,
indeed, the Ladies Room, he said, "I thought something was odd
when I didn’t see the porcelain wells lined up against the
wall." We both laughed and I said, "Well, at least you were
washing your hands!"
He wanted to shake my hand,
but I hadn't washed yet!! This leads me to my latest
crusade Hand washing is the
first defense against spreading germs.I go crazy
when I’m in a restroom and see a woman start to walk out
without washing up. In fact, because I feel that adults should
already know the importance of it, I’ll say something to her
before she gets away. According to the Nemours Foundation,
good hand washing is the first line of defense against
spreading many illnesses. The common cold, meningitis,
bronchiolitis, the flu, hepatitis A, and infectious diarrhea,
can be stopped by simply washing your hands.
How long should we wash our
hands? Long enough to sing "Happy Birthday"
twice!
Chaotic WeekIt seems every thing happens at once. On
Tuesday the Entrepenuers and Investors Exhange met at the Fox
and Hounds . Fritz Spademan is pictured With Peggy Jo on the
right. The photo is coutesy of Neil Jackson, Hudson Mills
Communications & Press for the E&I Exhange . The Success Church and Somerset ( also met that
same night. And then on Thursday there were four popular
events. Sailing Singles at Ginopolis (photo on the right
below), Somerset and Kirk at Dugans (photo on the left below),
the American Singles Golf Association, the Skiwi Ski Club and
PWP of Rochester all had events.
SOME OLD & NEW TIPS.PJSN readers, let me know how
theywork. thanx Mary
Bed Sheets After
drying sheets, put both sheets and one pillowcase in the other
pillow case. Fold neatly in a square. Next time you change
sheets, you just take the one pillow case and all the sheets
and pillow case are inside. No need to look for matches.
Clean your glass shower To clean the glass in
your shower easily, apply lemon juice to the glass with a
sponge. Then, take newspaper and wipe the lemon juice off the
glass. It will be clean and sparkle with no scrubbing!
Reheat Pizza Heat up leftover pizza in a
non-stick skillet on top of the stove, set heat to med-low and
heat till warm. This keeps the crust crispy. No soggy micro
pizza. I saw this on the cooking channel and it really
works. Easy Deviled Eggs Put cooked egg yolks in
a zip lock bag. Seal, mash till they are all broken up. Add
remainder of ingredients, reseal, keep mashing it up mixing
thoroughly, cut the tip of the baggy, squeeze mixture into
egg. Just throw bag away when done easy clean up.
Expanding Frosting When you buy a container of
cake frosting from the store, whip it with your mixer for a
few minutes. You can double it in size. You get to frost more
cake/cupcakes with the same amount. You also eat less
sugar/calories per serving. Reheating refrigerated
bread To warm biscuits, pancakes, or muffins that were
refrigerated, place them in a microwave with a cup of water.
The increased moisture will keep the food moist and help it
reheat faster. Newspaper Weeds-Away Start
putting in your plants, work the nutrients in your soil. Wet
newspapers, put layers around the plants overlapping as you
go, cover with mulch and forget about weeds. Weeds will get
through some gardening plastic, they will not get through wet
newspapers. {continued next week)
Letters from our readersDear Peggy Jo, Just
curious. How many organizations does your newsletter
cover? W.H.
Answer : it depends upon the week but
overall we have information from 55 organizations.
Dear Peggy Jo, How can these clubs coordinate their events
so that everything does not happen on the same day or week?
Don't they talk to each other? R.L.
Answer: We are
sending the club officers a calendar so that they can see what
is coming up.
Dear Peggy Jo, I enjoy reading your weekly updates and your
"articles" on the right side.. very thought
provoking.. Mary Anne
