The Rose
Some say
love it is a river That drowns the tender reed. Some
say love it is a razor That leaves your soul to
bleed.
Some say love it is a hunger An endless,
aching need I say love it is a flower, And you it's
only seed.
It's the heart afraid of breaking That
never learns to dance It's the dream afraid of waking
That never takes the chance
It's the one who won't
be taken, Who cannot seem to give And the souls afraid
of dying That never learns to live.
When the night
has been too lonely And the road has been too long.
And you think that love is only For the lucky and the
strong.
Just remember in the winter Far beneath
the bitter snow Lies the seed that with the sun's love,
In the spring, becomes the rose.

"Perhaps love is that process of my leading
you gently back to yourself."

Booth - Lincoln: For those of you who read
the Lincoln/Booth story in my last newsletter (Issue of Feb

true! See the book "Robert Todd Lincoln: A Man In His Own
Right" by John S. Goff, pages 70-71.
The Austrian Society holds an annual ball in celebration of their
debutantes. This year the society honored 32 young women at
the 59th Viennese Strauss Ball on Saturday, February 18, 2006.
It was a spectacle to view these young ladies with their
escorts, wearing their beautiful white gowns and tiaras.
Additionally, to see them all dancing the Viennese waltz was
beautiful in those flowing gowns. Two of the past commodores
of Sailing Singles attended with their escorts for the first
time. It was a glorious evening to remember.
The great Johann Strauss (Son), The Waltz King,
lived in Vienna from 1825 – 1899. He composed 479 waltzes, 16
operettas, polkas, marches, czardas and incidental music. He
was conductor of his own, very successful dance orchestra, and
for many years conductor at the imperial court balls. In 1876,
he conducted concerts in Boston and New York, celebrating the
centenary of the United States of America. The

Where do pets come from?
It is reported that the following edition of the Book
of Genesis was discovered in the Dead Sea Scrolls. If
authentic, it would shed light on the question, "Where do pets
come from?"
And Adam said, "Lord, when I was in the
garden, you walked with me everyday. Now I do not see you
anymore. I am lonesome here and it is difficult for me to
remember how much you love me." And God said, "No problem! I
will create a companion for you that will be with you forever
and who will be a reflection of my love for you, so that you
will know I love you, even when you cannot see me. Regardless
of how selfish and childish and unlovable you may be, this new
companion will accept you as you are and will love you as I
do, in spite of yourself."
And God created a new
animal to be a companion for Adam. And it was a good animal.
And God was pleased.
And the new animal was pleased to
be with Adam and he wagged his tail. And Adam said, "But Lord,
I have already named all the animals in the Kingdom and all
the good names are taken and I cannot think of a name for this
new animal." And God said, "No problem! Because I have created
this new animal to be a reflection of my love for you, his
name will be a reflection of my own name, and you will call
him DOG."
And Dog lived with Adam and was a companion
to him and loved him. And Adam was comforted. And God was
pleased. And Dog was content and wagged his tail.
After a while, it came to pass that Adam's guardian
angel came to the Lord and said, "Lord, Adam has become filled
with pride. He struts and preens like a peacock and he
believes he is worthy of adoration. Dog has indeed taught him
that he is loved, but no one has taught him humility."
And the Lord said, "No problem! I will create for him
a companion who will be with him forever and who will see him
as he is. The companion will remind him of his limitations, so
he will know that he is not worthy of adoration."
And
God created CAT. And Cat would not obey Adam.
And when
Adam gazed into Cat's eyes, he was reminded that he was not
the supreme being. And Adam learned humility.
And God
was pleased. And Adam was greatly improved. And Dog wagged his
tail.
And Cat did not care one way or the
other.

The Cold War paranoia threaten the folks at the Milwaukee
Space Centre in 1955, where the staff is all a-buzz at the
arrival of rocket scientist Trenton Corbett. The budding
romance of Trenton and Mary, the daughter of Space Centre

lands in Milwaukee. The craft is piloted by Zombina, a buxom
alien aviatrix bent on procuring he-specimens to repopulate
her planet.A zany and outrageous story brought to life by a
